Belharra Cleanup Days 2023, it’s time to take stock!

The Belharra Cleanup Days was held from March 13 to 17, 2023 and we achieved a participation rate of more than 70%! With a little clarification, the remaining 30% are employees with light email boxes…

The objective of this action was to mobilize as many participants as possible within our ecosystem, to raise awareness on the subject of responsible digital technology.

How did it go from March 13 to 17?

The week started with an activity during which employees were invited to decipher a secret message!

During this week, employees were invited to do a major spring cleaning! In fact, 1 hour was dedicated to them so that they could empty, archive and delete as much data as possible! The deletion took place both on mailboxes but also on the cloud and the landline.

In addition, there was a BOX made available at the entrance to the Belharra premises in partnership with Ecologic and the bocage workshops in order to collect old telephones, whether working or not, to recycle and recondition them. Thanks to this action, we have recovered around ten phones which will be tested and given a new life with almost 82% recycled materials.

The numbers, the numbers!

In total, thanks to everyone's mobilization, 82 GB of data were deleted from mailboxes and more than 119 GB deleted from the cloud and locally.

Or 59 kg CO² equivalent!!

That's as many emissions as traveling 271 km by car or consuming 130L of bottled water!

Figures and actions that will last over time since the objective was to raise awareness of the importance of this cleaning and that it was much better to do it “progressively and throughout the year to save time and above all to permanently reduce data!” as pointed out by Margaux Arricau from the marketing department.

Here is therefore a first level of responsible digital approach accessible to all and for everyone which has even encouraged employees to sort through their personal mailboxes. To continue the process, it is advisable to tackle a bigger piece: smartphones!
